let’s just say it was a good weekend. ;-)

i tried to secretively update my website and blog without anyone noticing so that kristin + jesse’s first glimpse at their wedding images were of this blog post, since the new website has some on there. but of course, cute and bubbly kristin emails me yesterday something along the lines of…

“soo…i’m a super stalker and saw our pictures on your website and i’m in love with you.”

and this, kristin… this one sentence is exactly why i wish sometimes i could put you in my pocket and take you home with me. you simply make me laugh and i love you for it. so maybe it wasn’t quite the surprise i had planned, but i definitely won’t complain with that sweet email!

when i walked into the room, kristin just sat and glowed. it was your typical getting ready….tons of girls crammed into the smallest space they can find when there is an entire empty room next to them :) it was a fun group and i knew when i walked in and found them dancing to some 80’s song that this was going to be a very very good day.

big thank you to ben who was my second shooter for the day and of course that fact alone made it that much more fun!

kristin + jesse planned a Day After Session, so that we could have more time to get beautiful portraits, without them having to worry about getting back to their guests or being on a timeline. so a few days later, we reunited and just played in the golden sunlight. as you will see, i am so.glad.we.did.

kristin + jesse:: this last year planning your wedding with you has been so much fun and i’m sad to see it go. however, i know that you two have bright and amazing futures ahead of you in your new home in north carolina. thank you so much for making me feel like a part of the family on your wedding day, truly i was honored to be able to document it. xoxo

so. what am i doing in San Antonio? i am attending Imaging USA, one of the biggest photography conventions there is. this will be my first workshop ever…and it will be days and days of classes, networking, vendor parties, and the trade show floor. even better is that i am flying in 4 days early to attend a business workshop specific to wedding photography where i will learn from the best all the great tips to running a successful business. i am ready to go and have fun, meet new photographers, view new products, and just have a great time exploring San Antonio.

more than anything, i am ready to be utterly inspired by all this industry has to offer.

not sure how much time i will have to blog while i am away, but i will do my best to keep you in touch with what’s going on for the next 10 days! in the meantime, i am leaving this little sneak peak from the wedding i shot this past weekend.

2- sometimes i want to throw my husband out the window. but then i don’t.

3- the second Canon in D (aka The Wedding March) starts playing in a church where the acoustics are amazing, i am always trying to catch my breath.

4- sometimes, i take out of focus pictures. yes…hard to believe…but it’s true… i am not perfect.  ;-)

5- the day after a wedding, you can usually find me on the couch the entire day. do not ask me to clean. do not ask me to move. do not ask me to be nice. i.just.want.to.lay.here.and.do.nothing.

6- i love lists and will add things like “take a shower” to them just so i have something to cross off.

7- i want to shoot a destination wedding where i can wake up the next day with the bride and groom, and rome the streets of whatever amazing country we are in taking beautiful portraits.

8- the picture frames in the house we moved into 4 years ago are still empty.

9- i just printed my own wedding pictures from 2.5 yrs ago….last week. oops.

10- i have never actually taken a photography class. gasp, i know.
